About Kilowhiz
A registered Texas electricity broker · PUCT Broker Registration No. BR260211
Kilowhiz prices every electricity plan sold at your Texas address on your own meter readings, before you sign.
The price in an ad is the price at one level of usage. Your home has its own. So we run your usage through every charge of every plan, and rank the plans by what your home would pay. Our methodology shows the math.
Who runs it
Sean Janoe founded Kilowhiz in August 2026 and runs it in Texas, doing business as Kilowhiz.
Registered with the state
Kilowhiz is registered with the Public Utility Commission of Texas as an electricity broker, No. BR260211. It is not a retail electric provider, is not owned in any part by one, and is not the agent of any provider or utility. A broker helps you choose a plan; a retail electric provider is the company that sells you electricity and bills you. What Texas law asks a broker to tell you is in our broker disclosures.
How we are paid
Kilowhiz charges customers an unlock fee of $5, once per home per 30-day shopping window. Some electricity providers pay Kilowhiz when you enroll in one of their plans through our partner link. The $5 shows you the recommended plan’s name. Today those providers are Chariot Energy, True Power and Payless Power. When a provider pays us on a plan, that plan says so, and payment never moves a ranking. The whole policy is on our how we make money page.
